HOME CLAIMS ASSESSOR - Canberra, ACT

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a self motivated individual to join our industry leading team as a Suncorp Home Claims Contents Assessor.

The role of the Contents Assessor is to support the customer by eliminating stress during what is often a very traumatic experience whilst still progressing the claim.  This challenging role provides a pivotal link between the customer and Client Manager.  It is the Assessor who validates the claim, explains the claims process and entitlements to the customer and manages the customer's expectations.  In order to achieve this, the Assessor needs to work in a timely fashion, be extremely customer service orientated with an empathetic approach when dealing with people facing a unique experience.

Reporting to the Assessing Team Leader, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiating, where appropriate, claims that can be settled immediately.
  • Providing a superior level of customer service that meets the Suncorp Groups values, service excellence and Assessing Principles.
  • Determine accurate and clear advice based on a sound knowledge and understanding of each individual brands policies and their intent.
  • Fully inform customers about how their claim will be managed, based on a complete understanding of procedures and their purpose.
  • Initiate actions, which will progress as urgently as possible the repair or replacement of the customer's claim, if required.
  • Identification of Key Indicators, which progress the claim through the appropriate channels.
